I decided to man up and go to Copley by myself. And I’d say I did a good job of it. Well, maybe I should’ve brought my GameStop gift card…
Anyway, I left at around 11-12. I went to Copley in search of three books. I only found one on the list, All the Pretty Horses (which sounds gay enough) and another book called Mansfield Park. I didn’t like Jane Austen’s last book, so I don’t know what the chance of my liking this one is. I’m going to make an effort to read the first 25-50 pages of both books and see which one I like better. Maybe I should go back to Copley pretty soon and see if I can find more. I felt really hot in there, though, so I got nervous. I was actually unnecessarily nervous on the way there, like I was going to meet the love of my life or something. I need to chill out. I’m pretty sure that lady at the front was a little upset that I didn’t have my library card out and ready for her when I got to the desk, but oh well.
After I got out the library, I decided to do a little exploring. I took a left from the library to eventually get to the Prudential Mall. Before I did all this, though, I realized that the Copley station (Green Line) was to the right of the library when you exit. Good to know. I went to the Prudential mall, looked in the GameStop, and found F-Zero GP Legend. Since I can’t play GX anymore because of the busted GameCube, I should look into the GBA version of the game. Might be great, and hey, it’s only $15, and hey again, I got GameStop cards like woah anyway. I should also see if I can get Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. I went to the food court, saw nothing I wanted, and turned around and left. I swear I saw one of BLA’s substitutes as I was taking the escalator back down. I went across the street to Walgreen’s and got a soda and two pairs of Reese’s peanut butter cups, then waited in a more than long enough line. I guess all their other machines were down? Interesting. One worker helped the other one with the register as he bagged the items and the other rang them up. That’s the best you can do with one machine working and when you’re in a metropolitan area.
I rolled back to Copley station, took the Green line to Park Street, took the Red line to Ashmont, saw the word “Transfer” for the first time on the 240, and came back home. Good trip, good experience. But I still wish someone was there with me.
